Hotel Sur

The beds were comfortable and the staff were extremely friendly. The pool could do with a clean, and guests coming back noisily by the stairs kept us awake until 2am.

The place was very basic and needs modernising. The website photos, especially of the pool, give a misleading impression, and the gym felt like something set up in a home garage. The food was like a bad café, and staff were rude and unhelpful. I visited in August 2024. If a backpacker-style stay is what you want, this may suit.

It gets very loud at night. There’s entertainment every evening that runs into the early hours, so this isn’t the place to book if you want peace and quiet. Several hotels along the seafront are like that. The rooms are kept very clean. There’s no maid service on Sundays, but when I asked, I was able to get fresh towels. Staff are friendly and helpful, and most requests were no problem. The menu is simple buffet food, but the quality is very good and portions aren’t restricted. You can’t take food out of the hotel. During the day, the bar serves coffee, tea, soft drinks, snacks and alcohol. The photos show different views along the nearby coastline.

We’re not staying at the hotel, but the bar is open to the public and has a fantastic atmosphere. The bar staff and our waiter were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. The singer tonight is really good, and we’ll definitely visit again during the coming week. Pat and Dave xxx
