Akquaaa Boutique Hotel

Breakfast was the weak spot for me: it was modest and didn't feel very satisfying for a hotel at this level. Still, Akquaaa Boutique Hotel has a relaxing atmosphere, welcoming staff, and spacious, modern, comfortable rooms. The rooms were a real highlight, and I liked the boutique feel.

The rooms are a good size, and the location is great. Antonella at the front desk was especially friendly and attentive, and everyone working here was brilliant. A real gem of a hotel, highly recommended.

The view is lovely, but our stay was disappointing enough to earn two stars from us. The bathroom looked worn and dated, and the breakfast buffet cost far too much for its limited selection of cold cuts, cheese, and other toppings. The coffee machine wasn't working either. A nearby bakery is much cheaper and offers better quality and variety, so we'd skip breakfast at the hotel. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was frustrating too. The waiters weren't polite, and we had to ask repeatedly before anyone paid attention and served us. Hotel staff also advised us not to visit the old town. We went anyway and were glad we did: it's beautiful, and the old castle has a fascinating history. The hotel's advice was baffling. The four stars seem to be there for the view alone. Worn facilities, poor service, and that bad recommendation didn't feel like a four-star experience.

From the first moment to the last, we had a fabulous time. The room was amazing and the restaurant exceptional. All the staff were so friendly and kind. I didn't catch everyone's name, but Carlos in the restaurant, Christina on reception, and all the cleaners were an absolute delight. Already looking forward to our next trip.
