Hotel Canada Palace

The staff were polite and handled a large crowd reasonably well, and the rooms were clean with hot showers. Those were about the only positives during our overnight stay, which Iberia/Level arranged after our flight was cancelled. The buffet dinner and breakfast were both quite bad. The food tasted stale across the board, some of the worst I've had. The room AC blew hot air even on its coldest setting, although it was cooler outside. This was April, not summer. There were also teens and pre-teens on school trips, and it was noisy through the night. It seemed the hotel mostly catered to stranded passengers and school groups, so perhaps food quality wasn't a priority. They really need to sort out the AC and improve the food and its taste.

The room was clean enough, the front desk staff were nice, and the buffet meals were decent. I was put here after my flight was cancelled, and it was fine for one night, but I wouldn't pay to stay here. This is nowhere near Barcelona's city centre, the AC blew hot air, and a bed blocked the balcony opening. There were also loud middle and high school kids wandering around. And this is NOT a four-star hotel.

United booked this hotel after my flight was cancelled. It's in a city about 45 minutes from the airport, and there were school activities with teenagers during our one-night stay. The room was basic and had poor sound insulation. With the tiled floor, all the jumping and yelling from upstairs echoed loudly. It was the worst hotel experience I've had. Dinner was acceptable, but breakfast was very basic.

We spent two nights here because VUELING delayed my flight. It was San Juan, with people dancing each night and fireworks to watch, so it was super fun. The food was nice too, and the chef kindly suggested what I should try since I don't know much about Catalan food. The beach is close, and the experience was great overall. I just wish the rooms had been cleaner.
