Cupido Boutique Hotel

We had a lovely room with a balcony over the street and a side sea view. Morning sun was a real bonus, and the room had a coffee machine, a great shower, and comfortable beds. The hotel was quiet while we were there, with lots of comfy sunbeds, a beautiful roof terrace, and a nice downstairs pool. The buffet changed daily; we had breakfast and dinner, and enjoyed some delicious dishes. The staff were amazing, all smiling, lovely, and helpful. The lady at reception was especially capable, speaking many languages, and was both professional and charming. This deserves to be a four-star hotel. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

The location is the best thing about this hotel, but there are better options. I stayed ten nights. The rooms have a mini fridge and are usable, though they could do with updating. When you open the window, a bad sewage smell hangs around. An air vent bangs loudly quite often, making you jump, and there were ants everywhere. Cleaners slammed doors and dragged beds at 5 am, so getting a good sleep or a lie-in was impossible. Staff and reception did very little to help. When I was out, the night receptionist refused to book a taxi for me even though I speak no Spanish, and I ended up stranded overnight. I felt there was little care or responsibility shown to a guest in a foreign country. I would never stay here again.

The staff were friendly and quick to sort out problems, and the roof terrace is a great place to spend the day. The hotel is very well placed by the strip, with the beach in sight. Just be aware that “boutique” means small here. In many rooms, the ensuite is part of the bedroom, with a sliding privacy door shared by the toilet and shower. Some rooms have the toilet and shower separate, so ask for one if that matters to you.

The location and the front-of-house interior shouldn’t lure you in. I travel around the island a lot and sometimes stay in five or more hotels, but these beds were worse than any I’ve slept in. They were terribly soft, and after two days and two awful nights, changing rooms didn’t help much. The rooms were below mediocre, with the toilet right in the room, so you’re basically doing your business next to the bed. You’d better have a very good relationship. Breakfast was like any other hotel, nothing worth talking about, and the orange juice had run out on the first day. I don’t know where the “Boutique Hotel” claim comes from. I’ll never book here again. If you can’t sleep on soft, old beds, this isn’t worth your money.
