Melia Calviá Beach Hotel

Magaluf was a peaceful base for us, with lovely views, and the hotel felt like a quiet haven while still being close to everything. We booked The Level, which really added to the stay. From check-in to check-out, the service, facilities, food and staff were all handled with care and professionalism. We couldn't have asked for more and had nothing to complain about. Our holiday at Melia Calviá Beach was unforgettable, and if we return to Mallorca, we wouldn't consider staying elsewhere. We've already recommended it to friends and family. After cancelling our Airbnb at the last minute because of AC problems, my wife and I found this gem. The hotel was very clean, the service was great, and breakfast was included as a buffet. It's about 30 minutes by taxi from old town Palma. I'd definitely return.

The gym was a pleasant surprise, well equipped and in good condition. Beyond that, this stay was a disappointment. The hotel was noisy, with music and entertainment that made it hard to relax, and the overall quality was nowhere near what I'd expect from a 4-star place. Parking was almost impossible because there were so few spaces. Extras were outrageously priced, including beach Bali beds at 100 euros a day. Food was poor and repetitive, often bland. Meat was usually overcooked, and at the BBQ the turkey was burnt outside but raw inside. We even got food poisoning one night. Breakfast was disappointing too, with food already cold when service opened at 7:30. Most staff were unfriendly and slow, and we never felt welcome. Even small requests took too long. When it rained, water came through a bathroom light fixture, which felt unsafe. There was often a strong urine smell around the terrace, likely from a nearby farm. Given the unsafe facilities, bad food, poor service, noise, scarce parking and expensive extras, the price was never worth it. Apart from the gym, there's little positive to say. At best, I'd give it 3 stars. We wouldn't return.

Housekeeping took our pajamas along with the sheets when changing them, and one of them “magically” disappeared. Reception told us casually that everything had already gone to the laundry, so there was nothing they could do. Since it happened over the weekend, we had to check out without our belongings. We left without the pajama and with the clear feeling that guest satisfaction isn't a priority here.
