Hotel Samos

I’ve never had trouble with the air conditioning, and the room walls have been fine for me, though you can sometimes hear the neighbours. The balcony door needs to be shut for the air con to work. A pool view room also keeps out the street noise. Magaluf is noisy, so I’m not sure what people expect there. I come to Magaluf every September and stay at the Samos. Check-in is smooth, the staff are friendly, and the room is spotless on arrival and stays clean. Water can splash from the shower onto the floor, but a rolled towel by the entrance sorts it out, though I understand why some people find it a nuisance. We only book bed and breakfast, and I’ve always found it perfectly adequate. The Samos has been consistently very good for me. If you can spend a little more, I’d recommend one of the La Terracita rooms.

Everything we needed was close by, and the beach was a five-minute walk away. We spent a week there at the end of May. The room was clean and lovely, the staff were really friendly, and the food was great. I’d definitely recommend Hotel Samos for a holiday in Magaluf or Mallorca.

Our room, La terricita I think, was grand and had working air conditioning. We only had a bit of trouble figuring out the pull-out couch bed. The food was amazing, especially the local dishes. I’d say it’s a great place to stay in Magaluf.

The food was the worst part of our stay. Breakfast seemed fine on the first day, so we added dinner to our package. The next day my husband and I both had severe vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach pain. We spent three days stuck in bed, sick and exhausted, instead of enjoying our holiday. Reception didn’t even have basic medicine, so while we were ill we had to go out and look for a pharmacy ourselves. Parking was another mess. We paid for a space for our rental car, then came back the next day to find it had been given to someone else. Staff said they’d figure it out, but the same thing happened again the following day. It seemed clear they were selling the same spaces to multiple guests. After wasting time and energy arguing over something we’d paid for, we demanded a refund and parked in a free public area two minutes away. We stayed six nights. The hotel is large and well located, and offers all-inclusive options. It may look clean and some employees were polite, but that doesn’t make up for food that raised a serious health concern. This wasn’t a minor inconvenience, it ruined a big part of our vacation. We’ll report it to the relevant health authorities. If you’re staying here, be very careful about what you eat. Stay safe.
