Valentin Park Apartamentos

The entertainment team made our week. The kids’ club was well organised, the evening shows were genuinely fun, and André and Helena were so memorable that our children are already asking to return for them. The grounds were spacious and well kept, with three outdoor pools, a heated indoor one and a large play area. The beach and shops were about a 10-minute walk away. We were there over Easter with our two young children, aged 2 and 4, and had a fantastic stay. Our recently renovated room was bright, modern and thoughtfully arranged. It was a little small, but had what we needed, and housekeeping kept it spotless every day. Meals were varied and nicely presented, though a few dishes were a bit heavily seasoned. Restaurant staff were friendly and efficient. We’d happily come back, and thought it was very good value.

The drinks at the pool bar were carefully made, and the food was delicious. Our room was cleaned daily, and the service was excellent. It was also quiet throughout our stay, with a calm atmosphere. The location worked really well, around five minutes on foot from Paguera beach and not too far from Palma Airport. Staff were helpful at every step of check-in and check-out, with a special mention to Isma. Good value, and I’d readily recommend it.

The gardens and pools were the main reason we picked Valentin Grand Park. They were enjoyable, even if they didn’t quite match the photos, and there was more greenery than at most nearby hotels. The bars were great, staff lively and involved, the rooms spacious enough with comfortable beds, and breakfast was decent without being remarkable. The hotel’s family focus suited us, though it does seem aimed at a particular audience. Food was a weak point overall. The all-inclusive lunches and dinners had plenty of meat choices but not much quality, while the desserts were a pleasant surprise. Felicita was the worst experience: after a seafood dish that tasted like frozen seafood put in a fryer, I became seriously ill and spent about 36 hours of my holiday recovering. The hotel said it wouldn’t consider the matter its responsibility unless a doctor officially confirmed food poisoning. We also had an uncomfortable conversation about a doctor’s bill that felt as though assumptions were being made about our nationality. Housekeeping fell short too. During the whole week our sheets weren’t changed, even after we asked following my illness. They only replaced the visibly soiled sheet after our baby had a diaper accident. Towel changes were inconsistent, and one towel was missed altogether. To me, this was more like a solid 3-star stay than the 4-star rating on Booking. The outdoor areas and family atmosphere were good, but food, housekeeping and consistency of service need work.

The hotel worked really well for our three-generation family. There were adult-only pool areas, cocktail bars and a restaurant for quieter moments, as well as plenty for families to do. The children’s mini club and disco were run by kind, caring and enthusiastic staff. Evening entertainment had lots of variety and was good quality, and the bar staff coming around to serve guests was a welcome bonus. Everything was clean, from the rooms to the many pools. We liked the international and local buffet dishes, especially Spanish day, and the pool’s à la carte bar had a varied menu and generous portions. Takeaway was available too, so we could eat by the pool or on our balcony. The Italian restaurant was lovely, with attentive service that made us feel welcome. My daughter’s gluten-free needs were well catered for. The shops, restaurants and beach were an easy walk away, and there’s a bus stop nearby. We’d recommend a trip to Palma or Port d’Andratx. Thanks to all the staff, especially Christian, who made our holiday special, and Michelle at reception, who answered our questions efficiently before the trip and arranged room upgrades. We had a great time and would gladly stay at Valentin hotels again.
