La Noguera Camping & Bungalow

We don't sleep here, but we like stopping by the restaurant and patio after a walk across the road by the reservoir. It's a relaxing spot for a tea or drink while the kids play safely in the enclosed area, without us needing to watch them every second. There's grass to run around on and fun equipment for different ages, including a mini trampoline, baby swing, tractor to climb, and slide. There's also a small carousel for €1, plus foosball for both kids and adults, also €1 each. The daily lunch menu is tasty, and the service is laid-back, just like the atmosphere.

The location is a big plus, right across from the river and lake, and the staff were friendly. They make an effort with activities like yoga and karaoke, and the site is generally clean. There's a free outdoor pool, an indoor pool for €5 an hour, grey and black water disposal, and a high-pressure wash for campers. But we had cold showers, no phone coverage, and Wi-Fi cost €20 for two days, which felt like taking advantage of guests. It was expensive for what was offered, and the place felt too focused on squeezing money out of people to be enjoyable. There was also a small fight between guests during our overnight stay. Some people may love it, but it wasn't for us. The price and camping experience didn't balance out, so we won't return. 3 out of 10.

A lovely spot for camping, with a beautiful setting. We had fun kayaking, the services were clean, and the staff were kind and helpful. Would definitely visit again.

We had a really enjoyable stay. The staff were friendly and spoke very good English, and the bread was good. Across the road there's a lake with lovely walking routes, which worked perfectly with our dog. On arrival we got a list of local walks and cycling routes. We did the walk to the castle, about 8 km there and back, and the loop around the lake, around 9 km. Both are worth doing. The restaurant was busy indoors and outside on Sunday, but we only had a reasonably priced beer, and dogs were allowed on the terrace. Although the car park and restaurant area were crowded when we arrived on a Sunday in low season, they were mostly day visitors; the campsite itself was quiet, with only a handful of people. The site is terraced, with fairly large pitches of small gravel and trees that I imagine would give shade in summer. We were near the sanitary blocks. One building had a separate dishwashing area with good hot water. The other had separate men's, women's, and family sections, with toilets and showers. The women's section had about five toilets and a similar number of showers. Everything was spotless, and I saw staff checking morning and afternoon. The showers were small, with only two hooks, but the water was hot and adjustable. There were no separate washbasins, just the ones in the toilet area, and a hairdryer was available free. There are two pools. The outdoor one wasn't open, but we were given two free passes for the indoor heated pool, which we didn't use. One morning I woke to a big fire behind the campsite. It turned out to be controlled burning in a field. Luckily there was no wind, so the smoke went straight up, though we did get covered in ash. It wasn't a problem. Someone came around and offered to wash our car, which was kind of them, but we declined. At night there was a lot of barking, probably from the village behind, though I can't be sure. At least two dogs were barking, and the first night was worse than the second. We could hear them even with earplugs.
