Hotel Best Maritim

The pool was never too crowded, and it was easy to get to the beach. There were lots of restaurants nearby too. We had a great stay, with friendly staff and a spacious, very clean room.

The staff were lovely and kind throughout our stay. The rooms were nice, with lovely bathrooms and great showers. We also liked the pool area and the private rooftop section with its small pools. Just be aware that renting the more luxurious bed units at the Sky Bar costs extra, and that wasn't clearly advertised. There was a rotating meat selection on the grill each night, which was a highlight, and the other meats were generally cooked well. But I was served chicken skewers that were completely raw inside, which was concerning. Lunch and dinner had plenty to choose from, though the selection didn't change much from one evening to the next. They advertised a different theme every night, but only the Chinese and Mexican nights felt noticeably different. Breakfast had lots of options but was the same every morning, so it can get repetitive, though it was fine for a short stay.

The sea was warm and the beach walks were lovely, and the location itself is beautiful. The hotel, though, was a letdown. The rooms feel worn, the lobby has no character, and the restaurant is like a canteen. Breakfast coffee is bad, there are always queues, and housekeeping is careless. I was genuinely surprised it has a 4-star rating.

It's halfway between salou and cambrils. I'd suggest paying for an upgrade if you want a better view. The rooms are on the small side, but come with a hairdryer, safe, kettle and air con. The food is fine. I liked the freshly cooked meat best. One evening someone was carving a joint of beef, with mash, gravy and vegetables beside it, and it was really nice. You'll need to book in advance to use the rooftop terrace.
