La Guarida del Oso

We had a fantastic stay and would definitely come back. The guesthouse is tucked away from other houses, so making a bit of noise doesn’t seem likely to bother anyone. There’s a wood-burning stove for heat, which is lovely to sit by, though it helps to know how to manage a fire. The facilities feel more like a hotel’s, with a barbecue, pool, spa, and ping-pong table. It’s also in a spectacular spot, right by lots of hiking trails.

Miguel Ángel came by on our first day, explained how everything worked, and was incredibly kind about answering our questions. There were 14 of us, and the house was roomy enough, with everything we needed for four great days. Each bedroom has a bathroom, air conditioning, and a fan. We had two big kitchens with a living and dining area, plus a large outdoor table beside the barbecue. The pool has jets, too. We can all see ourselves coming back.

The beds were the main letdown for me. They’re very small, and a couple can’t comfortably share anything smaller than a standard double, even though there’s room for bigger beds. That’s one of the most important things in rural accommodation to me. Otherwise, it was fine: the rooms were clean, there are two refrigerators, the surroundings are lovely, and there’s a river where you can swim.

We had a lovely weekend here with friends and the kids. The house is great, with all the little details taken care of, and the service was impeccable. We’d happily recommend it and hope to come back soon.
