Masia Sant Miquel

Sara welcomed us, explained everything about the house, and was always attentive to our messages. It’s a charming farmhouse in a peaceful spot, with a pool and beautiful garden, close to the village and supermarkets. Highly recommended.

The pool was awful, the garden was poorly kept, and the flowers were full of mosquitoes that kept biting us, so we had to go buy repellent at a pharmacy. The pool loungers were unusable because people fell off when they lay down. Inside, there was no air conditioning, only a fan in each room, either blowing right in your face or leaving you sweltering. The bathrooms had no amenities, just hand gel diluted with water and one roll of toilet paper that ran out the day we arrived, so we had to buy more. Cleanliness was nearly absent: dirty showers, stained tiles, dirty marks on the doors, and spiders on the ceilings. I had to shower in flip-flops. The bed sagged, had broken slats, and was only 80 cm wide. I stayed with two babies, and although we requested four cribs, only one was provided for my room. It had a board wrapped in a sheet as its base. Who expects one-year-old babies to sleep together in a travel cot without a mattress? I couldn’t use it, and had to arrange for a relative to bring a mattress for the travel cot I’d brought, since the babies couldn’t sleep with me either. They sell the idea of a 20th-century farmhouse in idyllic surroundings, with a terrace and pool for events. The farmhouse may be in its original state, but the reality fell far short of that picture, and I couldn’t enjoy those things. I’m sorry, but my weekend was disastrous. It would be good to adapt the place a bit for modern life and provide services guests request, so they don’t have to buy things themselves. I’ve stayed in over 100 accommodations and wouldn’t recommend this one. Too bad. I’m giving it one star only because I can’t post without a rating.

La Huerta Sant Miquel is made up of two charming adjoining houses built by emigrants who returned home. There’s space to spread out, a lawn, lovely rooms, a pool, peaceful surroundings, and sea views. The service is impeccable. It’s not suited to noisy parties, but it’s ideal for groups, or for a family like ours looking for a wonderful weekend getaway.
