Hotel El Angliru

It's on a road, and the hotel is noisy and warm. There are no amenities. For what it costs, this feels like a four-star hotel in Spain, yet it's a zero-star experience.

A pleasant, basic hotel with a good shower and breakfast. The internet was good enough for a Zoom meeting, and the owner was nice. Recommended!

For the money, the value is unbeatable, and I'll definitely come back. It's only 3 km from Cangas, in a convenient spot, and the cleanliness was impeccable. The rooms don't have air conditioning, but there is a fan. Breakfast couldn't be better and could suit a four-star hotel. The service, attention, and professionalism from the staff are remarkable. It's a two-star hotel, but the staff are five-star. Thanks.

You can stay here year-round since there is heating, and dogs are welcome. There's a huge field right behind the parking lot, which makes it easy to take a dog out. Each dog costs 6 euros. That's cheap compared with nearby hotels, though I don't see why the charge should change depending on whether you have one dog or two, since the tiled floors should be just as easy to clean either way. There's also breakfast, but as I understand it, it's coffee and a croissant for 8 euros. We skipped it, and other reviews made that seem like the right call. For the price, this is fantastic, especially since it's one of the cheapest hotels in the area, if not the cheapest. The rooms are very basic and quite dated, so don't expect anything special. Still, the bed is comfortable, the pillows are more or less comfortable, the bathroom has excellent water pressure, and there's ample parking. There's no air conditioning, so bear that in mind if it gets hot in summer, which apparently doesn't happen often here. Nights in Cantabria are usually around 16 degrees Celsius even when the day is hot, so open windows should be fine. We live in Biscay and sleep with ours open. The downside is that there's no soundproofing, so you hear road noise with the windows open. That doesn't bother us, but it could matter if you're sensitive to noise. With the windows shut, the room gets stuffy and smells musty. With them open, there's no smell.
