Pension Reconquista

There was no empathy or customer service when our trip ran late. We had driven about 900 km through rain and fog and expected to arrive at 21:00, but the weather meant we didn’t get there until close to 23:00. Check-in ended at 22:00. The host offered no solution and showed no understanding. She said it wasn’t her problem and even laughed about it. They wouldn’t let us move the stay to another day. Instead, they cancelled the booking as if we hadn’t shown up and kept the money.

For the price, the room was quite good. It was small, but had three comfortable single beds, decent cleanliness, a private bathroom, and a shower with hot water. Check-in could be easier, though you can reach them on WhatsApp with questions and they respond right away. The soundproofing isn’t great, but the location and value make it a 10/10 for me. You’re right by the Roman bridge, with bars, shops, and other places to spend time just outside. It’s a great base for a few days in Cangas de Onís, and you can walk everywhere.

The walls are so thin you can hear everything, and everyone can hear you. Even the drain makes a racket whenever someone gets up to use the bathroom or shower, enough to wake you. We were told the heating would come on in the late afternoon or evening, but it never did, and we were freezing. If you’re hoping to sleep, this place is a nightmare.

You couldn’t ask for a better location. Cleanliness was okay, though the bathroom door needed cleaning. The worst part was how loud the toilet cistern was. It made a big racket whenever we showered or used the sink.
