BQ Cala Ratjada Hotel – Adults Only

The evening entertainment helped make the atmosphere really pleasant, and the bar staff were always friendly and smiling. I had a room overlooking the pool, which was lovely, and the rooms were adequate. I didn't get to use the pool, though. There was so much to see nearby that I headed out after breakfast, came back for dinner, then went back out again. The food was delicious, with the staff trying to make something different each day. Reception staff were warm and greeted guests with a smile. I have fond memories of my stay. I've been to Mallorca twice, in the R2 Cala Ratjada area in 2024 and the Platja de Palma area in 2025, and I definitely recommend Cala Ratjada.

One receptionist was lovely to chat with and couldn't do enough for us. She also gave us good suggestions for places to see. The rest of the stay had plenty of problems, and I won't be back. The hotel and area are VERY German, and as English visitors we felt like an effort staff didn't want to deal with. There was damage around the hotel and in our room. The doors and cupboards were damaged, the bathroom sink looked like it was coming away from the wall and couldn't safely take any weight, hallway lights flickered, and the TV was dirty. Our sheets had holes and weren't replaced despite daily room checks. The pool and outdoor flooring was uneven, with large gaps. In the indoor pool, some luxury feature buttons worked and some didn't. Some staff seemed uninterested. Twice we asked for a replacement do not disturb sign after ours was removed from the door, but it never came, so we gave up. At check-in they said we'd be charged for towel changes if we didn't put the sign out. We weren't charged, but would have raised it if we had been. The food was mediocre and didn't change much. It tasted reheated, some dishes were cold despite sitting on hot plates, and I was served raw pork once. The bar was supposed to be open from 11 to 23:00, but staff were hard to find when we wanted a drink. The bathroom doors didn't lock, which I personally dislike, and the beds were fairly uncomfortable. Massages were available, but a bit expensive and arranged through an outside company that came in specially. You couldn't book one for the same day. I'd advise English holidaymakers to avoid this hotel.

We were really glad we chose this hotel and are already looking forward to another Mallorca trip. The island is one of a kind! The food surprised us with its range and quality, using fresh ingredients and local dishes. Room service was discreet and did a great job. Our room was clean and we got fresh towels every two days, too. The location worked well for us, as long as you don't mind a short walk. Calla Agulla beach, which is really nice, was about 15 minutes away. The seafront restaurants and clubs took around 10 minutes to reach, and nearby shops such as Eroski were 5-10 minutes away. The staff were very kind. Highly recommend!

At tonight's half board dinner, I was especially happy with the beef stroganoff.
