Kerstin at reception made us feel welcome and handled everything so efficiently. The breakfast and cleaning staff were friendly and always smiling too. The room was clean, with a modern bathroom and air conditioning, and breakfast was good, especially the coffee and scrambled eggs. It’s a simple, no-frills pension in a handy spot near the port, restaurants, bars, and bus stop. Great value.

The relaxed atmosphere and very helpful, friendly hostess made our three-night stay a real pleasure. It’s also a great base for exploring the island, and the value for money is excellent. I’d happily recommend it.

The location is great and breakfast was okay, but the heat made our two-week stay really difficult. There’s no air conditioning, and the ceiling fan barely helped. The room is old, poorly insulated, and seemed to hold the heat. Even with the balcony and room doors open, the stairwell windows were shut at night, so there was no airflow. I’ve stayed in a fan-only room in Thailand at 40 degrees, but this room never cooled down. The bathroom was even hotter. Outside noise was another problem. There were parties and tuned motorbikes until at least 3 a.m., then street cleaning was loud in the morning. Several nights we couldn’t sleep at all. There was only a tiny bathroom bin, no regular rubbish bin. We also found long black hairs in the room on several different days, and the bed squeaked whenever we turned over. The staff were friendly, but I can’t recommend staying here in hot weather.

Kerstin and the staff were so kind and attentive, and the hotel was very clean. The price was attractive and breakfast was included. We were worried about the heat because it was our first trip with a baby, and when we explained that to Kerstin, she offered us a larger apartment out of the sun without charging the difference. That was really thoughtful. Adding air conditioning for guests with babies would still be a good improvement. Best wishes, Dalil (France)
