Pleta de Mar Hotel

We started our honeymoon here and had a fantastic time. The hotel was more picturesque than anywhere we’d stayed before, even more beautiful than we imagined or had seen in photos. Everyone was welcoming and very helpful. We paid for half board. We could have managed without it, but it was nice not to have to think about the price of the entrées we ordered each night.

The property is beautiful and breakfast was excellent, but the service overshadowed those good points. We told the staff it was our honeymoon, yet they made no effort to acknowledge it and came across as indifferent and unwelcoming. We booked four nights hoping for a memorable stay, but left extremely disappointed. I wouldn't return. There are several other hotels with better hospitality and more well-trained staff.

We really valued how quiet and private the hotel was, and the three infinity pools were wonderful. The rooms are beautiful. Ours didn't have an ocean view, but we didn't feel we'd missed out since you can see the ocean from much of the property. Even an odd request was handled well: at 10 pm, before a big bike ride the next morning, we asked if the kitchen had any bread, and they helped us out. Breakfast was amazing, and we'd cycle out early just to get back in time for it. Half board is worth considering. For eating elsewhere, having a car is definitely helpful because there are only a few places close by. On our last evening we walked to Can Simoneta and had a wonderful meal, and were glad we could share their facility. Dinner at the restaurant onsite at Pleta de Mar was a bit pricey, and the menu didn't have as many choices as I'd have liked. Only one or two dishes appealed to me, and after trying the steak I didn't feel a need to go back for another dinner. The bar right next door served an interesting, delicious selection, though. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. It was just wonderful, and part of me almost wants to keep it secret!

We had a very calm stay at Pleta de mar. The estate and its rooms are beautiful, clean, and well maintained, and the staff were thoughtful and kind. They dealt with a few small issues professionally, just as you'd hope at a hotel of this standing. The beach was pretty, though not as well maintained as the rest of the estate. It would also be nice to have activities to join, perhaps stand-up paddle boarding at their private beach.
