The pool was great and clearly well maintained. The hotel is in a lovely spot in this small, picturesque village, and the staff were friendly and spoke English. We had an early start to hike Mulhacen and asked about breakfast; they were able to arrange everything we needed.

In Spain’s highest village, this is an excellent hotel. The rooms are a little small, but very comfortable. For people walking in the hills, a small fridge would be perfect.

I’d stay again for the price and location, and the staff were especially welcoming at breakfast. Room 205 was an acceptable size, with a nice view over the little church Square, though it felt cramped with the unnecessary furniture. We could hear everything from the bathroom next door in 204, including running water, peeing, and the toilet flushing. Cleanliness was average: there was some mold in the bathroom, and I found hair between the clean towels and bedsheets.

Capileira has plenty of small local bars and restaurants for different tastes, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend staying here. The family-run hotel has beautiful views, and we really enjoyed our stay. We appreciated how generous and patient everyone was with us as non-Spanish speakers. The hospitality was second to none.

The staff were happy to help with anything, and the breakfast buffet was excellent. We also enjoyed relaxing in the very nice garden and pool area. The hotel is right in the center of the village, and the rooms are clean and modern, though a little short on character. We’d definitely return.
