We meant to stay three nights in our campervan, but liked the site enough to stretch it to five. Herbie & Anita are laid-back, friendly hosts who clearly put a lot of work into the place, and we were genuinely sorry to leave and carry on with our Spain road trip. Our pitch was a decent size and fairly level, among pretty flower beds, and the whole site is well cared for. The facilities were spotless with plenty of hot water, though I know they’re planning to update the toilet and shower blocks. EHU is available, but ours had reverse polarity and needed a converter. I’m not sure if that’s only an issue for UK vehicles. Laundry was great: we got everything washed and air-dried in a day, and there’s a tumble dryer too. The two pools were being readied for summer. Caion is a lovely beach, eight minutes away by car or an hour on foot. They also have useful maps and lots of information about the area. Muchos gracias! 😃

The owners are approachable and friendly, so it feels welcoming. Since the season has only just started, some things aren’t running yet. The washing and toilet facilities had no lights, hand soap, toilet paper, or other supplies. The surfaces were clean, but the facilities themselves are in poor shape and need a thorough refurbishment to reach an acceptable standard.

The croissants at breakfast were fresh and delicious, and we were surprised by how good the pizza was too. Both were clearly made with care. It’s a small, quiet campsite, which suited us. Everything was beautifully clean, and there was what we needed for a comfortable, relaxing stay. The owner and his wife made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived. They’re kind, friendly, and genuinely helpful, and you can tell they care about their guests. A lovely little place with a warm feel. We’d happily come back.

We ended up staying five nights and would have stayed longer if we hadn’t already planned our route home. The location is great, with beaches and small towns nearby, and Santiago de Compostela and A Coruna are an easy drive away. The owners make this campsite special. They share advice and tourist maps freely, and serve the biggest, freshest, most delicious croissant and pain au chocolate I’ve ever seen. They work from dawn to dusk and beyond, and their passion and vision really show. We hope to return and see how Herbie and Anita can make an already wonderful place even better.

The site is quiet, and the facilities are clean and good, with very warm showers. The owners did everything they could to make our trip special. We enjoyed the fresh croissants and pizza, and they even helped us find a garage to repair our motorbike. Thanks a lot, guys 🫶
