Hostal Ciudad de Cáparra

The owners are such a lovely family, and the place is really well run. There’s also a small supermercado next to the hostal with breakfast basics and things for the next day’s walk. My single room cost 36 EUR and had everything I needed. For a pilgrim with the budget, it’s a welcome bit of privacy and comfort before a long walk. The menú del día was EXCELLENT! I could write a whole thesis about that meal. You could stay in one of the village albergues, but you’d be missing out on a treat :)

Fresh, delicious, and generous portions. We started the Camino Via De La Plata in Seville 18 days ago, and so far this has been the best "Menu del dia" we’ve had. We’ve still got 4 weeks before Santiago, so we’ll see if anywhere beats Hostal Restaurante Cafeteria Ciudad de Cáparra.

The room was simple and tidy, and the powerful central air conditioning made the 40o heat outside easy to forget. I ate at the restaurant twice, and both meals were a delight. The quality was better than most of the affordable menus I’d tried.

Rooms are great, with everything you need, and the staff are really friendly. It’s right in the city centre. They serve breakfast and lunch.
