Breakfast was good, but I wouldn’t stop here again. It was the most expensive place on our two-week tour of more than a dozen hotels, and far from the best value. The hotel was noisy and very busy with weddings, which got in the way of enjoying the facilities. There were no drinks or fridge in the room, just a very busy bar, with another wedding going on. The garden view was actually the car park, where taxis were noisy at 2am, and there was no patio or balcony. In the bathroom, the kids couldn’t reach the hand wash or shower products because they were too high. My bed had a horrible, crinkly plastic mattress protector, and the room was noisy and hot.

The hotel’s breakfast can rival the Paradores, and the bar serves a reasonably priced “menu” for lunch, along with coffee and other drinks. There’s also a comfortable lounge with a fireplace for winter visits. The hotel is lovely, in a small town just outside the Comunidad de Madrid, and its Roman and Mediterranean themed spa has hot and cold pools, massage jets, a Finnish Sauna, a Turkish bath, and a cold room. We learned that the man who discovered the nearby Roman villa with its beautiful mosaic floors founded the hotel and spa.

The restaurant food was absolutely delicious, and the spa was relaxing, one of the nicer ones I’ve visited. The room and hotel facilities were nice too. We had a very nice stay, with friendly staff.

The spa is great, the owners are friendly, and everything else was good. We skipped the meat and cheeseburger at breakfast because it wasn’t covered and there were flies around it. We’ll be back.
