Hotel Alda Orzán

We could hear people having sex for half the night, along with constant coughing and other noises. It was impossible to get proper rest because the soundproofing is terrible. I definitely wouldn’t recommend staying here unless they improve it.

The photos online look nothing like this terrible hotel. We landed after midnight and had to check in through someone remote, probably sitting in an attic somewhere on the other side of the planet. It took half an hour to get anyone to answer our call, even though we had older people and children with us. The rooms smelled of damp and cheap spray perfume. There’s no AC, and the windows and walls are very thin. We had no choice but to open the windows, so people walking down the corridor could literally see us. Breakfast was very poor. The local staff were friendly.

Our room got quite hot overnight, even with the fan on, though maybe it was just one of those hot nights. The included breakfast was good, and the staff were really friendly, taking time to welcome us and offer lots of tips for getting around. The location is spot on, right in the heart of the city and near the beach. I really recommend this place!

It’s very well located, but the online photos don’t show what all the rooms are like. Some have a really ugly view, like room 102. The bathroom is nice, though the door won’t close and some maintenance is needed.
