The basic facilities worked well, especially the kitchen, and there are restaurants for dinner and cafés for breakfast nearby. It’s a handy stop while hiking the long-distance GR330, which passes close to the Casa Rural. I only missed having a proper electric kettle for tea or a flask of coffee to take on the trail.

It’s good value, clean and comfortable, and set up well for cyclists. The old town’s bars and restaurants are close by. I’d happily recommend it.

We needed somewhere to stay in Castalla, and this turned out to be just the right base. Our double room had a lovely view up to the Castle.
