Hotel Caseta Nova

When I called to check in, the person asked whether I was local. After learning I wasn’t, they didn’t send the check-in code, and I couldn’t get into the hotel when I arrived. It felt very obvious that they only wanted Spanish or European guests, and I felt the person staying there was racist. That was unprofessional. If that’s the policy, they shouldn’t advertise on Hotels.com or other sites open to everyone. I contacted Hotels.com on the spot and booked somewhere else for the night.

We had a nice breakfast with plenty to eat and lovely coffee, and the grounds were pleasant to walk around. We didn’t dine at the hotel, though seeing the restaurant made us wish we had; we’ll try it next time. The staff were helpful, and even went out of their way to assist my husband, who has mobility problems. Our room was spacious and clean, and dogs are welcome too. We stayed for two nights for a birthday and would definitely return.

There’s a shared kitchen and dining room for guests, and the whole place has a mix of Airbnb, hotel, and hostel about it. It’s cool, but strange and not quite what I expected. There was no staff around, just an automatic check-in machine. Getting there in the dark was difficult, though the roads seemed fine when we left in daylight.

The restaurant and hotel are lovely, and the scenery outside is beautiful for events like weddings. Our room was cozy and nicely decorated in an old-fashioned style. It was also very quiet and peaceful. I’d stay again.
