Aparthotel Bardon

The rooms were stuffy and smelled of smoke, and cleaning wasn't done on time. The boiler was tiny, barely enough for one person to shower. By the time you rinse your hair, the water's already cold. The frying pans were old and battered.

Sound carries badly through this place, and it was really noisy. I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for somewhere quiet.

I booked through Booking.com on November 20 for November 30 to December 4 and paid by card myself. The rate was non-refundable, but on November 25, work told me I needed to be elsewhere, so I asked through Booking.com and by email for a free cancellation. They said they'd cancel the booking, but wouldn't refund any of the payment, not even part of it. No one else had reimbursed me for the cost. I find that very unusual for accommodation, especially as they still had availability and the cancellation wouldn't cause them a loss. It doesn't seem like a good way to keep customers. I'll look into whether I can make a legal claim. Thanks for showing so little empathy.

The Wi-Fi was excellent, and the room was comfortable and convenient. The kitchen had nearly everything we needed, though it may not be enough if you cook a lot. Our ground-floor room had a spacious terrace, and the staff were very friendly. One of the women spoke good English. We were also allowed to use the paid private parking for free, which I really appreciated. The beach is an easy four-minute walk away, so I wasn't sure the pool was necessary. :) Mosquitoes were a nuisance, and it would be nice to have a net on the room's window. The area is also under the flight path for one of Barcelona Airport's runways. When the wind is in the right direction, planes keep passing overhead and it's quite noisy. That only happened on two days of our 14-day stay, though.
