I came looking for some time to unwind, and this was just the place. It’s quiet and peaceful, with welcoming hosts, and you can take walks in the mountains, explore along the river, or simply read. The house itself is an old, large property, but it’s well looked after, charming, and nicely decorated. I highly recommend it if relaxing is what you need.
Casa Rural do Fontan is a lovely place to get away from city noise and reconnect with nature for a few stress-free days. The house dates back to the late 1700s and was once the old rectory. Esperanza has made the rooms feel welcoming, relaxing, and magical. There’s a dining room, patio, barbecue area, and comfortable, cozy rooms. The hostess is always attentive and makes sure your stay feels special. Highly recommended.
The location felt like the middle of nowhere, and the house in person didn’t match the photos. Cleanliness was disappointing too: the upstairs room had spiders all over the ceiling and window frames. The owners seemed quite odd, and they had a roughly six-month-old dog that they beat. This was anything but spectacular. Don’t be fooled by the listing, this accommodation deserves a complaint for not being as advertised.
The service was fantastic, and we’ll come back. It’s a beautiful old rectory with a fantastic garden, and our room was very spacious and beautifully decorated.
