Regency Country Club, Apartments Suites

The animator really made today for me. He joined the water polo with loads of enthusiasm, and his quiz was great too. We won, of course! The rest of the place is good as well. I love the pool area, especially the bar in the water and the Buddhas everywhere. There are games to play too, including pool, badminton, chess and table tennis. It offers everything.

It’s a lovely hotel in a quiet spot, about 5min from town. Our spacious room had a balcony and sun loungers. We only ate breakfast at the hotel since we went out for all our other meals. Breakfast was good, with healthy choices as well as all the usual English breakfast trimmings.

Families will find plenty to keep the kids busy, from organized activities and the kids' club to mini-golf and swimming pools. Our children were worn out by sunset. The hotel’s location just off the TF-1 also makes it easy to reach Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje without staying amid all the bustle. Staff are really helpful and nice. Food was just okay, though the coffee was excellent and gave me a boost for toddler chasing. The building feels dated. Our shower seemed to be protesting against modern plumbing, though the jacuzzi partly made up for the bathroom’s worn look. The gym is a different story. Two treadmills were out of order, and there are no machines, just one bench and a rack of dumbbells. There’s a working rowing machine, two ellipticals and a stationary bike for getting your heart rate up. The oddest feature is an old VX body shaker that looks like it belongs in a 1960s fitness montage. It’s not a place to chase personal records or get shredded, unless a vibration workout on an old relic is your thing. Great for families, less useful for powerlifters.

The pool and outdoor areas are quite nice, and the hotel staff were really lovely. Breakfast was more or less okay, but overall I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Our room was very humid, and all my clothes felt damp too. It smelled like an old building, the furniture was old, and mold appeared in the bathroom one day. It was cold in the evenings and at night, and there was no air conditioning. The fan was only for hot weather, but at least they did provide blankets.
