La Casa Serena

The terrace was fantastic, with a gorgeous view of the valley and a few climbing sectors. It’s also an easy five-minute walk to the river and a swimming spot, and the town is easy to reach. Breakfast kept us going through a full morning of activities, and the rooms were incredibly comfortable. The shared facilities are basic, but clean and well looked after. Dagmar and Detlev speak several languages and are such kind, helpful hosts. They made us feel welcome and cared for, even when they had a lot going on at their bar. I’d definitely recommend this place for groups. Book all the rooms and you’ve got a wonderful spot to hang out.

The four double rooms and shared spaces, including a kitchen, living room, and two bathrooms, were cosy and comfortable. The house is in a good spot in Chulilla, with a nice patio facing the canyon where we enjoyed the breakfast included in the rental. We had a really pleasant stay and enjoyed chatting with Dagmar, the friendly and obliging German woman who took over as owner about eight months ago. I recommend calling to book, since email and booking aren’t working yet. Enjoy 😊

Dagmar and her husband made us feel so welcome during our trip to Chulilla. We had lovely conversations, and Dagmar suggested some interesting places to explore. The breakfast was tasty and filling. We’d be happy to stay at la Casa Serena again on our next visit.

I only booked at short notice, but ended up staying eight days. Dagmar was flexible and helpful throughout my climbing trip in Chulilla. The room was cosy and breakfast was great every morning. The location made it easy to get around town and explore the surrounding area. I’d stay again.
