Apartamentos de lujo La Laguna I

We were happy with the apartment and had all the amenities we needed. Picking up the keys was the one hassle: we had to go to another location, and the address in the instructions led us to a random place. Thankfully, they were helpful when we called and got us sorted.

Getting there was easy, and the location is excellent. We chose the place mainly for the pool, hoping for a cooling swim after driving for more than five hours. Instead, it was dirty, with cracked, blackened tiles. When we raised it, we were told it was fine, but the next morning it was closed for maintenance. There weren't any spare blankets in the room either.

The apartment itself was lovely, though the road to the restaurants is dangerous to walk along. The UK TV channels were hit and miss. We arrived after midnight and were sent along the road shown in the photos. It was pitch black, and after ten minutes dragging our luggage around and getting completely lost, security thankfully came to collect us. We were exhausted from travelling all day, so that was a pretty bad first impression.

We had a clean, fantastic apartment with everything we needed, and the pools were small but lovely to have to ourselves during our stay. We also found plenty of free street parking. There is underground parking, but it wasn't offered to us. The downstairs apartment looked onto an orange farm, which was great, apart from the first morning when the farmers arrived to pick oranges around 7 am and woke us. Thankfully, that didn't happen again. The Wi-Fi was weak everywhere except the dining and living room, and the TV channels didn't work; we didn't ask anyone to fix them. We stayed six nights for a summer holiday with my wife and our two teenage boys. The area has no public transport, but I had rented a car, so that wasn't an issue. Check-in was a little hassle because the phone number provided with the booking wasn't right. We had to call to confirm that we were supposed to check in at La Laguna Hotel, about 700 metres away. The reception staff were friendly, though their English was limited to simple conversation, enough unless you had a problem. In my view, this is a great apartment if you have a vehicle.
