Breakfast was a real highlight for us: it was made fresh each morning, with a different tasty surprise every day. We also loved how much care went into keeping the place comfortable and spotless. The owner made the stay especially memorable. He was warm and welcoming, and his local tips helped us find lovely spots around Andalusia we might otherwise have missed. Almijara Residence is right in the heart of Cómpeta, and we’d happily recommend it.

Maurice made us feel at home and was generous with his help. He suggested great places for food and drinks, helped us choose hikes, and even sorted out transport to and from a winery. We’d definitely recommend staying here.

We spent a week here with friends and left feeling like we’d made friends for life. Maurice and Paul were wonderful hosts, and the champagne birthday breakfast was such a thoughtful surprise. The hotel sits right in the village, with the town square below the terrace. We enjoyed the morning sun there and could easily walk to shops and restaurants. Breakfast was as good as everyone says, beautifully made by Maurice each day, with plenty of variety. The hotel itself is bright, lovely, exceptionally clean, and decorated with real care. Can’t wait to come back!

Maurice was so friendly, spoke several languages, and was always happy to help or suggest things to do nearby. We had two of the four rooms for our four-night stay. The roof terrace and honesty bar are lovely. Breakfast there in the morning sun, looking over the main plaza and church, was a treat. A fantastic place in a wonderful village, highly recommended.

The location is right in the centre of Competa, and the rooms have nice views over town. Inside, everything felt bright and clean, with thoughtful touches like local sherry waiting in the room. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was great. Maurice was a very friendly, helpful host, and breakfast was delicious, inventive, and a real highlight. I’d certainly like to stay at the Almijara again when I’m back.
