Pensión El Portillo

The lovingly furnished roof terrace was a bonus. My girlfriend enjoyed working there and joining online meetings. This is a nice, small family-run hotel in the old town of Cordoba, about a 5-10 minute walk from the Mesquita and city centre. Our room was clean and had what we needed, though it felt quite small for two people, especially with two large suitcases. There’s no actual parking lot at the hotel, but they recommended a free one about a 10-12 minute walk away, which worked really well. A good family-run place, with a few limitations.

We woke with the sun in the middle of Cordoba, which made it easy to explore everything on foot. The room was very clean and quiet at night, and the host was kind and helpful. We’d happily come back.

We stayed four nights in a private room with its own bathroom. It looked onto a quiet street and stayed quiet at night. The Hostal has lovely colonial character in both the rooms and the building, and the staff were friendly. WiFi worked without any problems. Great location, and around 40 Euro a night was a good price.

The owners are quite nice and live on the ground floor. It’s a cozy, family-run place in a rustic part of Cordoba, an easy bus ride from the train station and just up a short alley from the stop. There’s no dedicated receptionist, so sometimes it can be hard to find someone to help. The WiFi was spotty now and then but manageable. For this price, there wasn’t much to complain about.
