Camping Miramar

The facilities were a real highlight: spacious, modern and very clean, with separate men's and women's areas and music playing. At first it was the same song on repeat, “I'm your poison” by Bellestar ,& klub rider, but by our third day there was a mix. The showers have room, a ledge, adjustable temperature and hooks; one also has its own basin. There are plenty of other basins and mirrors, plus soap and lots of good toilet paper. The covered dishwashing area was clean and roomy, with very hot water. Beside it are laundry sinks, a washing machine and dryer, and across the way there's a dog wash area. There's also a playground, picnic tables, and paddle boards for hire. We picked a beach-facing pitch from the options we were offered with our ACSI card, after asking for 10 amp, and loved it. Each pitch has its own electricity and water point. The toilets and recycling area were a bit of a walk, so our scooter came in handy. The beach is lovely and long, with soft sand. You can get to it from several points across from the pitch, hear the sea all day and night, walk left past other beachside campsites, or head right and eventually reach the walkway. The bar, shop and cafeteria are on site. We only had a couple of beers at the bar on our last evening, so I can't comment on the food, but the service was good and the atmosphere was nice. It was busy with people eating and drinking, and plenty of well-behaved dogs. There are also bungalows, mobile homes, vintage caravans and seasonal plots. It's a fairly big place, but doesn't feel overwhelming. Our welcome was friendly, and the receptionist spoke excellent English, though we're learning Spanish. The site is gorgeous and I really loved it. The downside was one family gathering behind us over the weekend. Cars kept arriving and the nearby mobile homes filled with a large family group. They brought chairs and tables and gathered right behind our pitch. There was noise until around midnight on Friday, then again all day Saturday and until 1:30 am. We didn't mind the family noise itself, and luckily we wear earplugs, but people kept gathering outside our pitch and shouting as if we weren't there. They also used our pitch as a shortcut the whole time, even walking right between us and our van while we were sitting outside. Kids were constantly running behind the van too. I did take exception to one woman walking between us and our van. I just wish they'd been more respectful of us and our pitch instead of acting like they owned the place. The group left on Sunday afternoon and the rest of the week was amazing again. They spoiled our weekend, though, and we couldn't face another one, so we left sooner than we might have. We'll come back, but midweek.
