Cudillero Hostel

Good value, with a clean, comfortable bed. The only issue was the bright green fire exit sign above the door, which lit up the whole room. I had to wear a sleep mask!

The bed was so comfortable, and the shower was amazing. Our room key was ready when we arrived, and the staff member waiting for us was upbeat and spoke better English than we spoke broken Scottish Spanish. We got there in the end, lol. We took buses from Navia via Muros de Calon and had said we’d arrive between 2 and 3. The hotel has a vending machine where everything costs a euro, including water, crisps, olives, and beer. Cudillero is an amazing fishing town, with restaurants and cafés and bars all along the climb. It was about a mile to the top and half a mile back down to the harbour. The next day we took the Feve train to Aviles, walked around the fabulous old centre, then went to Salinas for its amazing beach. The walk there went through a very industrial area, with steel, zinc, and aluminium, but that didn’t take away from Aviles’s wonderful centre, old buildings, or beautiful central park. Cheers 😁😁

A new, inexpensive, very clean hostel, with a comfortable bed, a spacious shower, and a separate kitchen. There’s free parking inside and outside the property. Breakfast costs extra, but it’s worth having, and you can get it for just 3.50€.

For 25 euros a night, we got a warm, clean, cosy cabin and friendly staff. A really good deal.
