The room was clean and peaceful, with an amazing view. My girlfriend and I stayed for seven days and loved the place. Ali and Moreno made us feel at home from day one, and you can tell how much they care about both the house and their guests. We booked a double room. Alice teaches yoga and Moreno gives mountain biking lessons, and we had a lot of fun doing both. They also pointed us toward great surf spots, since they surf too. It’s a guest house, so everyone needs to be respectful of the other guests, the owners, and the house. We had a great time with everyone and made some lovely memories. Five out of five for me. Thanks, Ali and Moreno. We’ll definitely be back!

I felt right at home during my three days here. The house is peaceful, with a lovely connection to nature, and Alice & Moreno are wonderful hosts who enjoy sharing their life with the people staying there. It’s well placed for surfing, hiking, and biking around Cudillero. I loved my stay and hope to return soon. Thank you both with all my heart!

There are private rooms as well, but I stayed in the shared bunk room and slept well. The mattress, blankets, and pillows were all good. The place is clean, well organized, and nicely designed, with multilingual staff and good hot water. You can pay to use the washer and dryer, and there’s a fully equipped kitchen. If you’re heading up the hill, it’s easier to pick up groceries on the way. A great place to rest and recharge before the next day on the Camino.

We’d have been very happy staying at El Gato Negro. After walking 31 km, we called to ask if they had space, and they did. They even kindly offered to pick us up. We’d booked somewhere a few kilometres farther up the road because it was a little closer to the Camino, but when we arrived on Saturday, it turned out to be closed. Our original hotel eventually got in touch and checked us in, but the people at El Gato Negro were so kind and caring.

The house has a lovely atmosphere and is spotlessly clean. The view is stunning, and the hosts are amazing, really laid back. The friendly cats were just the thing after a long stage of El Camino. Breakfast was delicious, varied, and plentiful. A perfect stop for a night or somewhere to spend a longer holiday.
