We tried a delicious dessert and local wine at the restaurant, which Google Maps had marked as closed, though it was open. The walk there is short but steep. This hotel near Deba has beautiful views and friendly staff, and made for a peaceful, picturesque getaway.

The restaurant is reached by a very hilly, scenic road, and the people there were wonderful. They fed us really tasty food. The set meal is convenient too, at 25€ for a starter, main course, and dessert. This place is well worth taking a turn off the main route for. 💯

The host family was lovely, dinner was very good, and the place is beautiful and quaint. We spent one night here walking Camino del Norte. They send clear directions when you book: turn left off the Camino a little over 2 kilometers before Deba, then it's just under a kilometer along the turn. In the morning, a path behind the house/hotel takes you straight to Deba, so there's no need to backtrack. The family also raises bulls for bull fights where the bull isn't killed. The male owner is proud of this part of their business and his annual photo books, and is happy to talk about it, so ask him to show you if you have a few minutes. I don't believe they're open October through May except on weekends, so check carefully then. The only downside was that WiFi didn't reach our room, which could count as a positive on a Camino or getaway. Highly recommend.

The view is lovely, and the place has a nice, homely feel. Getting there is very difficult, especially when coming from Deba, and the manager's English isn't that good.
