San Miguel de Txorierri

A really nice, peaceful place to stay!

We stayed with our dog in a room booked for two people, and it was a lovely experience. The place is beautiful and peaceful, with gardens and trees all around and a quiet road, so our dog could run freely outside without trouble. Service was excellent, and breakfast was perfect. The woman who prepared and served it was very attentive, and everything went smoothly. We’d stay here again if we return to Bilbao and would definitely recommend it.

There are nice green areas around the house and a large garden for the dogs to play in. The house itself is lovely, and the rooms are comfortable, though it’s a shame there’s no double bed. I’m not sure whether the other rooms have one. The place has potential, but a couple of things need attention: the heating didn’t work at all, and even after we called to have it fixed, it was never resolved. We’d arranged breakfast for 8:00 am, the time we were told it could be served, but nothing was ready and we didn’t actually start until 8:45. That was a real negative.

It’s a pleasant, charming place made from a typical Basque house, in a quiet spot just beyond Bilbao and a five-minute drive from the airport. The rooms were very clean and elegantly furnished. Breakfast was enjoyable too, freshly prepared by a charming lady and served with the other hotel guests.
