Hostal Plaza

My family and I have spent thousands of euros here over the past year, but after this experience we won’t be coming back. My wife had back pain and couldn’t sit, so we asked to eat standing at the bar. They refused, while a better-dressed man was allowed to eat there. The restaurant wasn’t full, and most of the outdoor tables were empty. I’ve been coming for years, and the service used to be decent. Lately it’s gone badly downhill, and the atmosphere feels arrogant, as if they have too much work and have forgotten loyal customers. Edit: There seems to have been a misunderstanding. We never asked for a “mesa libre.” We only asked to stand at the bar because my wife couldn’t sit with her back pain. The defensive reply, which blamed the customer instead of taking responsibility, only reinforces my view that things have declined. When one person is allowed to eat at the bar and another is turned away on the grounds that the kitchen can’t manage, that’s favoritism, whether intended or not. The restaurant wasn’t full, and most of the outdoor tables were empty. My feedback isn’t spiteful or malicious. If anything, the response has made it easier for me to decide where to eat and what to recommend.

A lovely restaurant, with very generous portions and food of excellent quality. Definitely worth a visit.

Good food, and the service was great.

The lunch menu is good and reasonably priced 😋
