Casa La Vaquilla

The area around the property is very pleasant for a walk, but the cleanliness was badly lacking, particularly in the kitchen. It also needs serious maintenance, with loose toilet seats, broken lights, and other problems. We’d been told the tap water wasn’t safe to drink, but nobody mentioned that the water from both the sinks and showers would be brownish. Even after running it for several minutes, it was still discolored. I found that astonishing. :)

The surroundings were pleasant, and the good weather made the stay enjoyable, though the outdoor spaces need a facelift. The property showed a noticeable lack of maintenance: lights didn’t work, the toilets were in poor condition, there was a musty smell, the kitchen was unpresentable, the refrigerators smelled bad, and the water was yellowish. We had to buy shower gel and shampoo, and there wasn’t enough toilet paper. The Wi-Fi kept cutting out, and the BBQ was in such poor shape that it’s best left unmentioned. If these issues were addressed, the experience would be much more enjoyable.

It’s a real shame to see a place that once had great facilities get into this condition through neglect and lack of maintenance. The kitchen is filthy, and the refrigerator is unusable and badly needs a facelift. The barbecue and common areas are in much the same state. The bedrooms are the only decent option, and even that depends on the room, since some had a strong sewage smell. A real shame.

The views are very nice, and the property and bedrooms are spacious, but our group of 22 last weekend didn’t make full use of the large grounds. I wouldn’t recommend the place because it’s so poorly maintained. The kitchen is very old, with a gas stove, and everything feels neglected. The beds were uncomfortable, with old mattresses. The bathrooms have old, chipped bathtubs that are very high and hard to get into. It’s a shame, but we won’t be going back.
