Albergue Casa Jurado

The central location was a big plus, with a large supermarket close by. The room had everything I needed, and having a fully equipped kitchen made it easy to cook. Getting in was straightforward even without a reception, thanks to the clear instructions, and there’s a phone line available around the clock if anything comes up. My main issue was the private bathroom being outside the room. You have to walk along the hallway and remember to take the key in case the door locks. The wooden stairs were also loud whenever someone used them, which made it hard to sleep. I was a little cold at night and would have liked air conditioning with a heat pump. Apart from that, I had a great stay and would happily come back 😊

El Paso is a handy central spot on La Palma for getting to other towns, and Casa Jurado made a great base. The mansion is beautifully kept, very clean, and welcoming. We had a wonderful experience, especially thanks to the manager, who is a gem. We left with such a good impression that we’ll definitely return. Five stars, though I’d give it ten if I could! 👌👌👌👌😍😍😍😍 I highly recommend it. P.S. I still don’t understand why the daily stay is so cheap.

We stayed two nights, from the 12th to the 14th, and I wouldn’t recommend it. The room was uncomfortable, with the bed pushed against the wall and the bathroom down the hall. The shower curtain left so little room that showering felt like an acrobatic exercise. Although the house was empty, we got the worst room, the one that isn’t advertised on Booking.com. There was a dog barking every night, which I think belonged to the owners. With the window shut, we still couldn’t get any sleep. The supposed free parking was just street parking, and the pool was more like a puddle, a Fiat 600 next to a Ferrari. There was also a security camera in the common room without any sign saying it was there. And, well, they had a pet cockroach 🪳.

The house and room have a colonial look and were very clean, and the service was excellent even before we arrived. The bathroom is private, though outside the room, and it was comfortable. Towels were provided, and it had soap, a shower, and a sliding door. There are two very affectionate dogs, plus a small pool and a sun deck we didn’t use. The town is quiet, with two supermarkets nearby and a few cafes. The accommodation is next to a church, so the bells every day can get a bit unbearable. The dogs don’t bark “all night”; they bark in the morning, presumably when their owners feed them. That’s understandable unless you’ve never been around a pet...
