The metro is literally 10 steps away, which made this a great one-night stop. It was clean but basic, with a shared shower and a sink in the room. No AC, but the big window and fan kept me perfectly cozy. Bring your own shampoo.

The shower was excellent, and the owner explained how to reach the airport easily for €5.50. Centric station is about a 100-meter walk away. I was between flights a day apart and expected a cheap overnight stay, so I was pleasantly surprised. My small single room and bathroom had been modernized, and there was a deck outside almost as large as the room. It also had air conditioning and heating, plus a shared microwave. There are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops nearby, along with a very large supermarket.

I’ll come back whenever I visit Barcelona. The front desk lady on my second visit was nice and professional, and this room was clean and warm, even better than the first one. I liked the place from my first stay too, though that room could have been cleaner. One thing for English speakers: if an owner seems rude, it may be the language barrier. I once misunderstood a guy, but he was actually very nice and apologized.

The buses and metro both stop about a block away, and there are two ways to reach the airport: Metro L9 or the PR1 bus every half hour except overnight. The metro has an extra airport charge, while the bus costs the regular fare, so it can be a good use of a remaining ride on your Metro card. Nearby restaurants and taverns served good food at non-tourist prices, and there are lots of grocery stores. At night, the plaza and sidewalk restaurants were lively, and the neighborhood felt friendly and safe, almost like coming home. For a budget traveler this hotel is a real bargain. I stayed three nights in a small single room with a private bathroom. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, there was plenty of hot water, and the WiFi worked well for standard-definition streaming. The air conditioning was good, and there was closet space with a shelf and hangers, plus a desk and chair.
