Casa Rural San Anton Cuenca

Even with temperatures close to freezing, we stayed nice and warm. We were a group of couples visiting in December, and the house was comfortable, immaculate, and had six private bathrooms. The owners were so friendly and attentive. We’d happily return, and definitely recommend it.

The deposit was the worst part. They charged us for a towel they said needed throwing away, even though makeup washes out, and for a chip in a bedroom wall that we hadn’t made. The picture they sent looked like it could have come from moving furniture. I suppose insurance might cover things like that, as is usual, but it felt like they just wanted to keep our deposit. We won’t be back. We came as a family for New Year’s Eve, as we’ve done for many years. The house itself wasn’t bad, but the four downstairs bedrooms felt bare and unwelcoming, with little light and no bedside lamps in some, so there was nowhere to read. The upstairs rooms, with their wooden headboards, were a bit more inviting. We were freezing the first night. There was only a filter coffee maker, no regular Italian one, and no ovenproof dishes, so we had to bring our own. We’d planned to barbecue, but the grill was dirty, rusty, and completely unusable.

The house felt just as suited to winter as summer. A group of friends and I stayed over the December bank holiday weekend, and everything was perfect and spotless. The staff were really friendly too. We loved our stay and would definitely come back. 100% recommended.
