Hostal Alhaja Playa

The room itself was old but fine. I visited in early December, and the hot water turned freezing while I was showering, so I had to stop. That was really disappointing, and maybe it's better to stay here in spring or summer. The best thing is the location and the nice view from the window over the pine grove. Cross the grove and there's an amazing ocean view. Private parking is another plus.

The room was tiny and worn, and the old smoke smell was awful. The sheets and covers smelled just as bad, and now my belongings do too. We paid 75 euros for a night with zero sleep. When I raised it with reception, they did nothing and didn't even offer a discount. Avoid Room 103.

We stayed for a week and a half in early winter with our two dogs while looking for an apartment in Puerto. The hotel is family-run and very close to the dunes and beach. Our large room was clean, had air conditioning and a small terrace, and the staff were always friendly and spoke English and Spanish. You can rent bikes, and there's a very good restaurant opposite. They also sell sweets and drinks at affordable prices throughout the day. Thanks for the help and a lovely stay.

Really good value, with helpful, friendly staff and everything we needed in the accommodation. The location is great for the beach, and there's even a small pool.
