Soho Boutique Duques De Medinaceli - Adults Recom.

The breakfast was good, and the service was kind and attentive. The rooms, though, were cold and gloomy, on the ground floor, with bars on the windows facing the outside street. The decor is old and dated. Disappointing. I’m not sure this place has seen a renovation in a long time.

The hotel is quite far from the main parts of the city. Our room was large, but its only opening to the outside was a very small patio, not a direct window onto the street. I also couldn’t understand why they charged €45 for three beers, salmorejo, and a plate of jamón. The jamón was very good, so perhaps that explains it. Would I come back? Maybe, maybe not. The vintage building has lovely gardens that feel very cozy, lots of sitting rooms on the ground floor, and a nicely situated restaurant. Private parking is great, and the staff were very attentive.

If you’re looking for the latest fixtures and fittings, this probably isn’t the place. But for a hotel with history, huge rooms, classic gardens, and warm, attentive staff, give it a try. It’s a beautiful old hotel and well placed for day trips to Cadiz.

My junior suite was confirmed on 7 April 2023 for two nights, 13-15 May. Two days ago I was emailed to say I could no longer cancel. Then at 12:22 a.m. on 13 May, eleven hours before I was due to check in, I was told the hotel was overbooked and my booking had been cancelled. I had two restaurants booked for those nights. It’s Feria in jerez and about to start in El Puerto, so I should have been checking in in eleven hours. Clearly someone offered more money for our room because of the Feria. How can a hotel of this quality do this to a booking it confirmed on 7 April? Why book here if they can let you down eleven hours before check-in, during a festival? As an honest person, I find this despicable.
