Hotel Port Jardín Milenio

The restaurant was the biggest letdown. It was expensive, portions were tiny, and there was no vegetarian main. My starter was six gnocchi style cheese parcels, and I had to order dessert because I was still hungry. My husband had much the same, with fish as his main. The menu felt especially limited for vegetarians, and the bill was eye watering, three times what our room cost. Service was slow despite the restaurant not being full. When we ordered coffee after a gin and tonic, the waiter’s comment about the combination came across as rude. We were only there for one night before our flight. If we’d stayed longer, we would have looked elsewhere for dinner. The hotel itself was clean, bright, and welcoming, and reception staff were wonderful, friendly, helpful, and efficient. We got upgraded to a deluxe room, which was very nice, but it made me wonder what the standard room was like, since the deluxe seemed like what I’d expect from a standard. The spa was easy to book, and Deanna gave me a very firm massage.

The gardens are beautiful, the location is great, and the hotel was even better than its brochure suggested. Staff were friendly throughout, from reception to breakfast and the pool bar, and the service was great. Breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice and good quality. We didn’t eat at the restaurant, but it was always full and the diners seemed happy. We sat in the garden listening to the entertainer. We’ll definitely return next time we’re in the area.

Elche is beautiful, and this hotel is well placed for walking into town or catching a train to Alicante. I really like the room decor.

The breakfast had a great range of choices, and the staff were friendly. The hotel was clean and in a great location.
