It's a lovely place, but the staff seem too casual and some waiters could use more training. When the waiter brought my wife her beans starter, he leaned practically into her bowl. The kitchen also needs to pay closer attention to every item on the plate. My wife and I ordered hake today, and I got the tail, which was a tiny portion. The sliced potatoes were worse: they'd been fried much earlier, then left until cold and hard. Warm sauce over them didn't help at all. They tasted awful. The portions are small, as others have recently said.

During our two weeks in Spain, the set menu of the day was the most wholesome food we ate, and it was very reasonably priced. Everything was incredibly tasty and well prepared, and the waitress got it to us quickly.

The service was poor, and after a long wait we only received some of the food. We had to change our order three times because the dishes we'd picked had run out, with little explanation beyond that someone else had got to them first or a shrug. By the third change, I was the only one still sitting at the table waiting for my food, when I was told that choice wasn't available either. I can't call it lunch. I could say more about the service, but it was no good. Things got worse after that, though I'll take responsibility for my part in what happened.

The decor is perfect, and it's close to the road if you're driving to Bilbao. The staff are very helpful, the food is delicious, and the service is perfect. You can give it a try.
