Hotel Carrasco

The person serving breakfast was kind to me when I was on my own for work, 500 km from home. They even called to tell me breakfast was included, which I appreciated. I stayed for several nights about a year and a half ago, after moving to the area for work, and found the place very comfortable.

Three days before we were due to arrive, we called and learned that all six single rooms had been canceled without warning. We'd spent three weeks trying to book several rooms for work, with calls either unanswered or met with a promise to call back in a few minutes that never came. Regrettable.

During my three days there, I had to ask for towels that weren't in the room. That's a small mistake anyone at work could make, but they didn't make the beds either. The owner said the sheets were left at the foot of the beds so guests could make them on arrival. I didn't agree with that, though it's their hotel policy. What really upset me was asking for a little more milk for my coffee in the morning. She yelled at me and said she could put flowers on my bed if I wanted. I've never been treated so badly anywhere. I should just pay and go to another hotel, I suppose. My experience was terrible, with a complete lack of respect.

We booked three single rooms and were charged €150, with the option to cancel within 7 days. The next day they called to say the hotel was starting renovations and our stay wouldn't be possible, and promised a refund with no problem. A month and a half later, there's still no refund and they seem to have disappeared. The phone is switched off, and someone answers the landline listed on the website saying it's not a hotel. Scammers! Scoundrels doesn't even begin to cover it.
