We spent our days visiting San Sebastian, Panplona, and France, all within about 40 minutes, 1 hour 20 minutes, and an hour by car respectively. Back at the hotel, there were chickens, sheep, goats, and horses kept behind it along the large hillside, with fresh vegetables growing on the grounds. The food was so good and filling that we couldn't move after the main course. From arrival, the owner and staff made us feel welcome and special. Our quaint room had everything we needed, including WiFi, and a powerful shower. We'd like to stay again next time we're in the area.

The casa sits partway up a mountain road, about 20 kilometres from the lovely, clean sandy beach at Getaria. The rooms are nice and the staff are good. Be sure to learn a little Basque first, it's nothing like Spanish!

It's a peaceful place with a story, tucked into nature, and handy as a base for towns and cities nearby, including San Sebastián, Bilbao, and Tolosa. Breakfast is bread, jam, tea or coffee, plus a pastry. A lovely experience for a very reasonable price.
