Casa Adelante

We ended up leaving and finding somewhere else to stay. We'd booked this for one night on the way to Portugal, travelling with our one-year-old son. The listing on Booking.com showed a separate bedroom and living room, so we expected to be able to sit somewhere after he went to sleep. Instead, it was one large room, and even the bathroom had no door. It was also freezing inside, just 15 degrees. In December, with it too cold outdoors, we asked the owner if we could use the room next door once our son was asleep, since we were the only guests. He said no, unless we paid in full for another room. That was really disappointing service, especially since the listing was their mistake. They also wanted to charge for breakfast for our one-year-old. Even as a couple, it seems very expensive for what you get, and the rooms aren't very inviting.

We hardly felt anyone else was around, even though the family who runs this finca-turned-boutique-hotel lives on site and was just a WhatsApp message away. They were incredibly kind and helpful, offering to drive us wherever we needed since we had no car. They even spent a whole day arranging a way for me to go horseback riding nearby. Our room was spacious, clean, and easy to keep cool. The pool was lovely, and the food was great too. I highly recommend staying here!

Breakfast had few options, and there weren't any eggs. The property itself looks amazing, and the rooms were really tidy. It's pet-friendly too, which is a big plus when travelling with animals.

Marco, our host, was lovely and suggested some good places for dinner. The grounds were very nice, and the whole place felt quiet, relaxing, pet-friendly, and welcoming.
