Hotel Esplugues

The price felt completely out of step with what we got. The value for money was extremely poor, and the hotel's high online rating is misleading. We left frustrated and disappointed and wouldn't recommend staying here. Management really needs to improve the service and be more transparent. The rooms were noisy and poorly maintained, and cleanliness throughout left a lot to be desired. There seemed to be too few staff, which hurt both the atmosphere and the service. Even basic requests took far too long. We emailed the hotel about our concerns during the stay and still haven't received a reply. Some staff also didn't speak English, which made getting help or resolving problems difficult. For an international hotel, that was surprising. From the moment we arrived, it was clear the stay wasn't going to match the advertised rating.

We booked at the last minute for €247 for three nights and two people, which was great value. Five stars for being just right for us then, not because it's the best hotel ever. It's in a quiet, peaceful area, with a train into the city and an airport bus five minutes away. There's a supermarket nearby too. The room was clean and comfortable, with air conditioning, and got cleaned daily. Staff were super friendly, reception stayed open 24/7, and there was even an elevator. Affordable, comfortable, and convenient, exactly what we needed.

Other hotels had things like a kettle, mugs, maybe tea or coffee, water, and sometimes a small fridge. This place could do with more amenities. The rooms could also use better soundproofing. I could hear people talking in the hallway. There are better options out there, but if this is your best option, go for it.

I was traveling alone for the first time and took a chance on a hotel with low reviews. I'm glad I did. The price was fair, the room was clean and modern, and I was surprised to have my own balcony. The receptionist was so nice to me. It's in a lovely area that's not too busy, and I felt safe walking around alone at night. There was also a Saturday market right behind the hotel, a wonderful surprise. I'd definitely come back. I'm not sure why it's rated so low.
