Watching the sunset from this location was unforgettable. The setting is truly unique, but the hotel itself didn’t quite match the high expectations it creates. Our room was cramped and had a strong cooking smell, while the bathroom smelled unpleasantly of sewage. There was also loud music late at night from the restaurant right below the rooms. Breakfast was extremely minimal, and the value for money felt questionable. More attention to guest comfort would make a real difference.

At night, the lighthouse beams looked beautiful, and the room had outstanding views and was very comfortable. The staff made us feel welcome. We also had a delicious dinner at a table perfectly placed for watching the sunset. Such a magical spot.

We could watch the sunset and head straight to dinner, which was the main advantage. Some tables have sunset views, but they’re kept for hotel guests. There’s a bar, though its setup makes it a poor spot for watching the sunset. We regretted eating here. The portions were generous, but the food itself wasn’t the best.

The service was grotesque, though the hotel itself was good. We stayed there at 200-300 EUR a night and tried to order drinks, but the waiter ignored us. After an hour, I ordered at the bar. Our drinks were never cleared, and nobody checked if we wanted more, even though we stayed for three hours. We had the same experience with the food. I read the Michelin review. The place doesn’t have a Michelin Star, but it was mentioned in the guide for the view, not the food. I can vouch for that. The room was nice, but at 28 degrees without AC it was quite hot, even at night with just one small window.

I stayed solo at Hotel O Semáforo de Fisterra from 11 March to 13 March 2024 to celebrate my birthday. Falling for the place was immediate. It’s a small hotel in a magical, majestic, unique spot right beside the Finisterre lighthouse. My room was perfect, the bathroom comfortable, and the amenities just right. I especially liked having espresso ready to brew when I woke up to watch the gorgeous sunrise. The staff were friendly and courteous. Christian knows the area well and is a great bartender, and the charming Italian girl, Oneia?, was professional. Everyone was approachable. Jacinto was a perfect host, with so much knowledge about the food, the area, and Galicia. The food was excellent, and breakfast was just right, though I missed the olive oil. I loved this out-of-the-ordinary hotel, with its lovely corners where you can find solitude and inner peace. Foggy, sunny, or windy days all felt full of magic and mysticism, especially around sunset. Thank you, Jacinto and crew, for memories I’ll never forget. Keep up the good work!
