We chose it for the location and price, so we expected low standards. The best part was being right in front of Estanc de los peix, a salt lake with a breathtaking sunset. They also have a great café, restaurant, and pool, and the mattress was good. But the double room with garden view was very, very small. Removing the old dresser and wardrobe would make more room. The toilet looked 80s style and had no window or ventilation fan, which was strange. There was no fridge or phone to call reception. They stopped providing shower gel after the second night, even though we stayed four. The walls were so thin we could hear everything from next door and the corridors. Luckily, we were out all day and only came back late to sleep.

The rooms were small, though very clean, and the hotel was okay, but not what I expected after seeing it listed as three-star on Hotels.com. It's only two-star, with no pool bar or restaurant. There's a new restaurant next door, but it has different owners. I found it confusing that payment had to go through a third party, Formentera Break, based at the port. The staff weren't very friendly, and when I asked to charge my electric mountain bike, they said no. I eventually found an outlet in the laundry room and was able to use it. I'd describe this place as rooms with a pool.

We had an apartment-style room and could step straight out to the pool. The bar is excellent, and I hear the restaurant is pretty good too. It's a lovely place, with the lagoon only 20m away on foot. Great location.

We spent five lovely days here with the family in August. Hotel FORMENTERA BREAK: LAGO DORADO is right beside the sea, and the setting was peaceful and relaxed, just right for unwinding. There was also an amazing restaurant nearby that made the stay even better. A fantastic choice for a family trip to Formentera!
